I'd like to know if the car dealership survey will affect the income of a salesperson?

My salesperson from the dealership told me to check everything "truly outstanding" in the survey, otherwise it will affect his commission / income. Is that true? He's not quite knowledgeable and very careless. I don't want to affect his income level, but I really want to speak my heart out. Please help!

I'd like to know if the car dealership survey will affect the income of a salesperson?
Sales associates are required to keep what's called a CSI score above a certain level or it absolutely effects their pay. In addition, although there are several categories, most manufacturers will consider "completely satisfied" or "outstanding" to be a passing grade, whereas "very satisfied" or "very good" would be a failing grade. Although it depends on the dealership, a score below the national or regional area could cost a salesman thousands in lost commissions.

That being said, the manufacturers want the best people selling their wares, and they also reward those that consistently maintain scores above the national average.

All in all, if the guy didn't do a good job representing his dealership and product, the decision as to whether to help the guy out or not is up to you, but if he does a bad job, the whole company sometimes suffers.
Reply:Salty is absolutely correct. However, do you know how long this guy has been selling cars? You say he was not very knowledgeable. It could be that he was just starting out, nervous and only has on the job training (which is 99% of what happens in the car business). Before you evaluate too harshly, ask yourself was this inexperience or blatant disregard for servicing a customer as though you got a fly in your pancake and nobody seemed to care.
Reply:That would be a question for the dealership. If you can't answer honestly on a survey, why bother to answer at all? I'd call the owner of the dealership and have a discussion with them.

Would the salesperson refuse to sell you a car if you refused to fill out the survey the way he asked you to? If so, go somewhere else to buy.
