Survey ~ When buying a car, do you choose mainly on looks or fuel efficiency???

well i've only bought one car so far, but it's a Honda Civic and i do remember that we chose it largely due to it's good gas mileage. but i think it looks pretty good too!

Survey ~ When buying a car, do you choose mainly on looks or fuel efficiency???
How much it costs is usually my first thought
Reply:It's like choosing a lover. You either see one that attracts you, or you go the dating agency route and search for a criteria. I personally don't like the dating agency approach. I think it should be an "across a crowded room" eyes meeting instant attraction. The fact that you then find out that it bleeds you dry is a trade off you live with.

The concept that you have a list of wants and you find something that fits, is as abhorrent as actually using a dating agency, because I am wise enough to know that I don't know what I want until I see it. So me going and looking for something that ticks boxes I think I need will ultimately lead to me ending up with something that doesn't excite me. Something safe.
Reply:Both and price
Reply:Fuel efficiency first and the look next , color the third factor
Reply:No...I go for what looks nice...Sounds stupid but im a girl.. = -)~
Reply:Both
Reply:Colour...!
Reply:fuel efficiency.

the car has to be decent looking though
Reply:Neither, as long as it runs im cool...
Reply:Looks
Reply:Both! It doesn't have to be like, 60 mpg or anything, but something that is better than average is just heavenly to me.

That's why I love hondas, lol.
Reply:Both , fuel mainly , but I would buy a pill!! lol
Reply:the last car i bought was before gas prices went through the roof so i payed no attention to the gas milage..funny story i acually picked out my car based on trunk size..i went around the lot checking the trunk of each model to make sure it would hold a double stroller

but now that my kids are not babies i will be getting another one based mostly on fuel efficiency
Reply:FUEL EFFICENCY. Its all about saving the mula.
Reply:Looks, speed, and if its got a turbo/ supercharger mainly.
Reply:looks 53%: fuel efficiency 47%

have bought a 1 honda civic, 3 accords, 2 geo prizms

as fuel effient vehicles for commutting over a 20 yr period
Reply:Neither. Price verses condition is the deciding factor. Let's face it. With the price of cars exceeding the cost of a modest home, working folk do not have that luxury. Our cars and trucks range from 8-15 years old. We have to buy the best thing we can find at the price we can afford to pay. If you can afford a new car loan/lease in this day and age you are indeed privileged.

Reply:Neither. first comes practicality (we have two dogs, my wife can only drive an automatic, and we need something to carry shopping, compost for the garden and all manner of large items) then comes running costs, which are related to fuel efficiency, and looks come last.

The car I drive to work has it all, it's practical, semi automatic, does 50 to 60 mpg, group 2 insurance, £35 per year road tax and it looks good. (and the dogs will fit in the back)
Reply:gotta say looks; arnt i shallow ;)
Reply:I see both.
Reply:Fuel efficiency. Plus the heater has to work. I had to survive one winter without a heater......even had to have an ice scrapper for inside the windshield.
Reply:both.

the first thing i look at is the style of the car.

and then i considers its mileage efficiency.
