Survey: What was the crappiest car you ever had to drive?

a 1984 honda accord with a big dent in the side of it and the muffler ripped off so it sounded like a harley. everybody was staring at me and i was so embarrassed. and the second worse one was a volkswagen bus that kept stalling at every intersection so the ppl behind me would get all pissed off and start honking and threatening me.

there are worse ones ive had to ride in but those are the only bad ones ive driven.

Survey: What was the crappiest car you ever had to drive?
A Mitsubishi Tredia...Never had seen one before nor since...

I think I know why...

But it got me from point A to point B avoiding point C (C for Cars) often enough...
Reply:LOL...my first car was an 86 VW Golf. Yeah I bought it for like $600 when I was 16.
Reply:LOL ... where do I start?

I had a '76 Ford Torino with the whole electrical system was hooked up to a switch. If you forgot to flip the switch before turning the key it wouldn't start, and if you didn't flip it back when you got out you'd wake up the next morning to a dead battery.

I also had a Chevette. It had a top speed of 40 mph ... any higher than that and it would start to shake so hard you couldn't stand it. And I had to take a 50mph road to get to work every day ... It was a curvy, hilly two lane road too, you should have seen the daredevil stunts people behind me would do to get around me LOL.

But nothing tops the car a friend of mine had. Another Chevette ... which was lucky for him because the car didn't go into reverse. His girlfriend worked with me, and I'd watch him drop her off at work every day. The lot was too narrow to drive around ... so he'd have to get out of the car and push it backwards so he could get back out. It was fun to watch.
Reply:An old beat up Fiat with a standard transmission. I ground those gears til it didnt run anymore.
Reply:An old Army truck, but I guess that a truck isn't really a car. It was all I got to drive for 3 years though.
Reply:Geo Metro. The hood was chained down. The hood was a different color than the body.

POS car.
Reply:An old Ford LTD. Looked like crap and was embarrassing to be seen in, but ran when others wouldn't.
Reply:When I was in grade 1, the crappiest car I had to drive (and the only car I ever drove, when I learned that the steering wheel is not what makes a car move, because I was totally retarded back then) was the little car that I drove on a field trip to some kind of road thing.
Reply:a cut out card board box made CAR
Reply:my brothers gf's first car....it was a junk bucket!
Reply:An unair-conditioned, standard four-gear manual transmission, no power steering, 4 cylinder, no power anything, not even brakes in a tiny Toyota Corolla. I live in Texas where it gets way hotter than hades. I got a little bit sweaty from time-to-time, but at least I had an FM radio and fantastic gas mileage. I was always a little bit wind-blown (when there was any) going back and forth to college and to my part-time job. I probably looked like I had been riding in an open

convertible or on a motorcyle. The car had no dents, no rust, no missing paint or anything, just no get-up-and-go and no a/c. So, perhaps it was not quite as bad as those that drove Yugos. At least I wasn't losing parts as I drove it. But I did have to put some towels on those high-class vinyl seats to keep from burning my backside and legs. LOL. ;)

One good thing about my Toyota Corolla (no frills or extras at all -- just basic car)...it sure held it's value. I paid the dealer $2,500.00

cash for it and I got $2,500.00 cash when I sold it two years later, so I really didn't lose any money on it and did not put that many miles on it, to be honest. I was just uncomfortable until I bought a brand new car with a few power gadgets and a wonderfully cold air conditioner that also got great gas mileage. ☺ Did you ever have one of those "really crappy" cars, Bunny?

Reply:crappies car ever is DODGE NEON !!!!!! it had peeling paint so did the other 4 around town and parts fell off the damn thing as i drove it.
Reply:A 1970 something Ford LTD, yellow with white interior...but damn Ioved that tacky car.
Reply:a Yugo.
Reply:In Hawaii, to save money we rented this Ford Mustang Convertible from a company that rents cars that people have thrown away. It then rained the whole drive to the other side of the island and how the top and doors and window all fit together, it made sort of a funnel to pour water in on us so that we were going to be drenched whether the top was up or down. We would have had to stop halfway and bail the water out but thank God those holes in the floorboard were their to let the excess water drain out.
Reply:A 1951 Ford. But it was my first car ($150 total) and my baby. I loved it.

Reply:definitely this old, little, silver, piece of doo-doo, Honda hatchback my mother bought for $700 for my ex hub to drive to work and put all his muddy tools, clothes and whatever stinky, dirty stuff he could in! It kept going and going though! Just like a Honda does!! And it not only saved wear and tear on our nice car, it got better gas mileage!
Reply:It was a 1993 Pontiac Grand Am. We paid entirely too much for it from a shady used dealership. The thing had 300,000 miles on it. Eventually the A/C stopped working and we had to put water in it several times a day, then the driver's side window got stuck open so we had to close a big trash bag in the window so the rain wouldn't get in. Finally, the car just died after we'd had it for about three years. It was a piece of crap...but I sort of miss that car...
Reply:A 1972 Chevrolet Vega. omg, it was the biggest piece of crap I ever seen. My buddy found it in a junk yard for 250.00 bucks and we drove it all summer.
Reply:I guess Ive never had a crappy car. My husband has kept us both in good vehicles.*
