Survey: What is the best car audio systems?

Rockford Fostgate or Polk all around

Survey: What is the best car audio systems?
ok, you three that answered... you're retarded. ok here we go

Deck:

Pioneer, Eclipse or Alpine. NOTHING ELSE!!!

Door Speakers:

Infinity, POLK!!!, JBL, BOSE!!!

Subwoofers:

JL Audio, MTX, Rockford Fosgate, ECLIPSE!!!, Infinity, Boston Acoustics

Amp:

JL Audio (only for JL Audio woofers), MTX!!!, Eclipse, Rockford Fosgate

Wiring:

Monster, Tsunami and Streetwires are all the same. They are really good.

Now onto you're second part, which I say you really f'd up...

What to buy in order for longer lasting stereo's:

1. DECK

2. SUBS + AMP (a must for subs, you make it look optional)

3. DOOR SPEAKERS + 4 CHANNEL AMP

The reason for my order is because you need a deck to power your stock door speakers. If you get aftermarket speaker on a stock deck, they need more power than a stock speaker, therefore your speakers will crave power and demagenetize. So, after a deck, buy sub(s) because you need to work off of that to buy door speakers. If you buy the loudest door speaker first, you will have a BIG problem finding the right sub for your vehicle. THE AMPS ARE MANDATORY FOR ALL SUBWOOFERS! If you want more SQL(Sound Quality), you might want to buy an amp for your door speakers.

That $1,200 you're saying for a decent system is low.

Door Speakers + Deck + Sub(s) + 2 Amps (sub + speaker) = more than $1,200.

Decent is this: (going by the equation order above)

$150 + $200 + $175 (2 subs) + 500 (sub amp) + 350 (speaker amp) = $1,375

This is still low, you're going to be looking at Shipping %26amp; Handling and/or Taxes.
Reply:WOW!! Some people!

What's "best" to me won't be "best" to you or them. What sounds good to me may not sound good to you.

Your ears are your best critic.
Reply:i think Sony has a some of the best systems out there right now,,but all of them are good,i just prefer Sony over other ones,,good luck.
Reply:Well.. if you're looking for a particular brand, try Alpine. It's a great sterio, plus it has anti-thieving devices on it. It has great sound and bass for a nice price. Try to get one around for holiday prices.
Reply:Its not in the brand its in the install and setup Ive seen a 8in sub powered by a 500w 250w RMS amp slaming harder than a 12in sub being powered by a 800w 400w RMS amp the difference was one was installed proporly the other wasnt you need to take everything into account gauge of the wire length of the wire fuse amperage placement of power wires and RCA's even direction impedence of subs weather to wire them in series or parrellell ground point propor connections spade connections o connections battery voltage and impedence everything BRAND DOES NOT MATTER!!!!!!! I also want to add that john doe is the retard and doesnt know what he is talking about.
Reply:I've posted this before, but it should provide you with a some help.

The components of a good car sound system would be as follows: The source (cd player, in-dash dvd/nav system, radio, tape player, etc.), the speakers, the subs, the amps, the parts/wiring. Also, depending on how big of a system, possibly a new battery or two and an alternator. Here are some of my recommendations as far as good brands.

Deck: Eclipse, Pioneer (regular or premier), Alpine, Kenwood Excelon, Nakamichi (not the greatest looking, but great sound).

Speakers: Polk Audio, Infinity, Eclipse, Pioneer Rev High end: Focal, Boston, MB Quart, Nakamichi

Subs: JL Audio, MTX, Kicker, Eclipse, Audiobahn, Memphis, Hifonics, Diamond Audio, Fosgate (p3 and higher)

Amps: all the sub companies, plus, Precision Power, Crossfire, Cadence, Soundstream

Parts/Wiring: Monster, Tsunami, Streetwires, even Kicker and Fosgate make decent parts/wiring.

Now if I had to choose, here would be my choices:

Deck: Eclipse or Pioneer

Speakers: Polk Audio, Infinity, or Eclipse

Amps/Subs: JL Audio or MTX

Wiring: Tsunami or Monster

As far as the order in which to purchase (if you can't do it all at once) here would be my suggestion:

First replace you speakers (stock stereo with good speakers sounds better then aftermarket stereo with stock speakers),

Then replace the deck (it'll help the speakers, but it will also give you the foundation to build the rest of the system off of)

Next, subs/amps/wiring (give you that extra bass that you need, make sure you use good wiring and the right size, capacitors if needed, important for system, also as far as the wiring, remember you will need another amp for speakers)

Next, amp for speakers (speakers will play cleaner, tighter, more accurate, and louder - a must, especially with the subs)

After that its all just accessories: i.e. satellite radio, navigation, dvd player, screens, etc.

Now as far as where to get them, most of these companies will be available at Circuit City, BestBuy, Cardomain.com, Cruthfield.com. Others are only sold at authorized dealers (usually a local audio company), but you'll have to check out their websites in order to find the ones nearest you.

As far as cost, I would say a decent FULL system would start around 1200 installed and then just go up from there. Now just new speakers and a deck, I'd say around 450 and up for a good setup completely installed.

But in the end these are just my recommendations (based on quality and sound), like Sparky said only you can judge what you like. Everyone's ears are a little different so what sounds good to me may not sound good to you. Shop around at all the car audio dealers and take a listen, but make sure you take one of your cds with you so you can judge all of them with the same song (one that you are familiar with).
